In Dammam an air conditioner is not a luxury. From May to October ambient temperatures pass 45 °C, and Gulf humidity keeps the unit running near capacity for months at a stretch. AC faults happen faster and more often here than anywhere else in the Kingdom — and airborne dust compounds it by choking the outdoor condenser and driving system pressure up.

Our job is to return the unit to its original efficiency, not just get it "cooling a bit again". So every visit begins with measurement: refrigerant pressure on both the high and low sides, compressor current draw with a clamp meter, and the temperature split between return and supply air. The numbers identify the fault. Appearances do not.

Diagnosis

The symptom you see, and what is behind it

These are the cases we see most in Dammam, with the usual cause for each. This is here so you understand what is happening — not so you attempt it yourself. Refrigerant and mains wiring need a technician.

Runs but does not cool
Low refrigerant from a leak, an outdoor condenser blanketed in dust, or a clogged indoor filter restricting airflow. Less often, a compressor that has lost capacity.
Cools then cuts out
High-pressure trip from poor outdoor ventilation, a stopped outdoor fan, or a run capacitor that has lost its rating.
Water dripping indoors
Drain line blocked with algae or dust, incorrect fall on the drain, or a frozen evaporator caused by low refrigerant.
Loud noise or vibration
Unbalanced fan, failed bearing, loose bracket bolts, or debris inside the outdoor unit.
Bad smell from the vents
Moisture and dust on the evaporator growing mould. The fix is a steam clean and sanitising, not an air freshener.
Remote does nothing
Failed IR receiver, indoor control board, or simply batteries and the remote itself — we test the cheapest cause first.
Ice on the copper pipework
Low refrigerant, a restriction in the circuit, or poor airflow. Running the unit like this damages the compressor — switch it off and call.
Trips the breaker
A short in the compressor or fan motor, or an earth leak. Do not keep resetting the breaker — that is a genuine fire risk.

Scope

What a repair visit covers

  • Refrigerant pressure check on both high and low sides
  • Current draw measured on compressor and fan
  • Capacitor, control board and relay testing
  • Indoor and outdoor fan inspection
  • Drain line inspection and clearing if needed
  • Temperature split measured across the coil
  • Leak detection where low refrigerant is suspected
  • A plain-language verdict: cause, fix and price

Unit types

Exactly what we work on

Wall split

The most common unit in Dammam apartments and villas. All capacities from 12,000 to 30,000 BTU.

Window

Window units in annexes and standalone rooms — cleaning, capacitors, fans and recharging.

Cassette

Ceiling units in offices and shops, including panel removal and condensate pump servicing.

Ducted

Concealed units with duct runs — filter, static pressure and leak checks.

Parts

What we fit in your AC

We use genuine manufacturer parts whenever they are available at a sensible price, and known-quality approved alternatives otherwise. Two things matter to us: we tell you exactly which one before fitting it, and the warranty covers the part either way.

We do not fit used or unbranded parts. That is not just a principle — a cheap part brings us back to the same house a month later under warranty, which costs us before it costs you.

Most replaced parts in Dammam

  • Run capacitor for the compressor or fan
  • Outdoor fan and fan motor
  • Indoor electronic control board
  • Temperature sensor (thermistor)
  • Condensate pump on cassette units
  • Compressor — quoted after diagnosis

FAQ

AC repair questions

What is the call-out fee for an AC?
SAR 50, deducted from the repair cost if you approve the work.
Do you give a warranty on the repair?
Yes — 3 months on parts and labour for all repair work.
Do you offer same-day service?
Yes, same-day visits across Dammam subject to availability.
My AC runs but does not cool. Why?
Three causes account for most cases: low refrigerant from a leak, an outdoor condenser blocked with dust, or a dirty indoor filter. We measure pressures and current draw to identify which before doing any work.
How long does an AC repair take?
Common jobs such as clearing a drain or replacing a capacitor take one to two hours. A compressor or control board may need a second visit to source the part.
Do you repair window and cassette units?
Yes — wall split, window, cassette and concealed ducted units, residential and commercial.
My AC trips the breaker. Should I keep resetting it?
No. Repeatedly resetting a breaker on a genuine short is a real fire risk. Switch the AC off at the breaker and call us the same day.
