Installation decides how long an AC lasts

AC installation in Dammam

More than half of all faults on new air conditioners come from poor installation: an incomplete vacuum, the wrong fall on the drain, or too little clearance around the outdoor unit. We do it right the first time.

Buying a good air conditioner does not guarantee good cooling. The unit leaves the factory correctly set, but its real-world performance is decided in the two hours a technician spends installing it. An incomplete vacuum leaves air and moisture in the circuit, raising pressure and corroding the compressor. The wrong drain fall means water on your wall within a week. An outdoor unit pushed flat against a wall with no ventilation means repeated cut-outs at the peak of July.

We install to what the manufacturers’ manuals specify, not to whatever finishes the job fastest.

Scope

What the installation covers

  • Siting both units for correct airflow and drainage
  • Steel bracket fixed with anchors suited to the wall type
  • Up to 3 m of correctly gauged insulated copper
  • Flare joints made with proper tooling and torqued correctly
  • Drain line run with sufficient fall to the outlet
  • System evacuated with a vacuum pump and pressure-hold tested
  • Electrical connection in cable sized for the load
  • Test run with the temperature split measured in front of you

Before we install

Decisions that determine quality — make them with us

Indoor unit position

At least 2.2 m high, away from any heat source or curtain that obstructs airflow, with the shortest practical drain run. Ideally the air travels down the length of the room rather than striking a nearby wall.

Outdoor unit position

At least 30 cm clearance behind and 60 cm in front so heat can escape. Avoid surfaces exposed to direct afternoon sun where possible, and never box it into a corner between two walls.

Copper line length

Each metre beyond three reduces efficiency slightly and needs extra refrigerant. If the run exceeds 7 m, or there is a large height difference, we explain the effect before starting.

FAQ

Installation questions

How long does a split AC installation take?
Two to three hours per unit under normal conditions, including evacuation and the test run.
Does the price include copper pipework?
Yes, up to 3 m of insulated copper. Additional metres are charged at a published per-metre rate.
Will you install an AC I bought elsewhere?
Yes. We install any new unit regardless of where you bought it, and warrant our installation work.
Does third-party installation void the manufacturer warranty?
Some dealers require installation by their approved centre to keep the unit warranty valid. Check your warranty card first — if that condition applies, we recommend you follow it.
Do you drill through walls?
We make the standard pipe pass-through. Larger building work or core drilling in concrete walls is outside our scope.
